**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct routine testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished biodiesel.
- Ensure all testing complies with national and international biodiesel standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, Karl Fischer, Viscometer, etc.
- Maintain detailed records of test results and prepare daily quality reports.
- Investigate and resolve non-conformities in product batches.
- Assist in calibration and validation of laboratory equipment.
- Support R&D activities for process optimization and new formulations.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure process consistency.
- Ensure laboratory safety and regulatory compliance (PCB, ISO, BIS).
- Perform analytical tests on fermentation broths, distillates, and final ethanol.
- Monitor ethanol purity, strength (ABV %), impurities, methanol content, etc.
- Use laboratory equipment such as alcoholometers, GC, spectrophotometers, etc.
- Record and maintain all test reports in compliance with Excise regulations.
- Implement and maintain SOPs for bioethanol QC.
- Ensure batch-wise traceability and quality assurance documentation.
- Assist in internal audits and external inspections (Excise, Pollution Board, etc.).
- Collaborate with production for corrective actions in case of deviations.
- Maintain lab safety and chemical handling protocols.

**Qualifications**:

- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology, oil technology, chemical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in biodiesel or oil & fat-based industry preferred.
- Knowledge of FFA, TAN, methyl ester content, moisture analysis, etc.
- Familiarity with BIS and ASTM standards for biodiesel.
- Proficient in MS Excel and lab documentation.
