**Job Summary**:
Oversee the overall manufacturing process to ensure optimized production. Design and implement plans for the effective use of material and labor resources to achieve manufacturing target. Supervise the operations of manufacturing personnel to ensure a manufacturing process is within budget and time schedule. Schedule the maintenance of production equipment and machines to ensure efficient operations. Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges or problems. Liaise with the quality assurance department to ensure product quality and specification are consistent. Manage a team within a discipline or department, typically comprised of career/intermediate professionals or Supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures products are scheduled and manufactured in accordance to the needs of manufacturing locations.

Interacts with department supervisors in problem solving, decision-making, and personnel issues.

Manages department's safety procedures, hazardous waste, maintenance requirements, training programs, and storage facilities.

Defines objectives of the department.

Maintains raw material inventories and coordinates with purchasing to ensure production requirements are met.

Maintains manufacturing procedures.

Oversees warehousing, shipping and receiving.

Evaluates department supervisors and reviews department personnel.

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

Must be regular and punctual in attendance

Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job description.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision of Department Supervisors, Review and evaluation of employees' performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in engineering or chemistry. Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Chemistry. Extensive knowledge of machine operation and production scheduling. Understanding of NuSil's products. Supervisory experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
