Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
1. Prepare and cook South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambars, rasam, and other regional specialties.
2. Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
3. Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety.
Kitchen Operations:
1. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
2. Assist in receiving, storing, and inventory management of ingredients and supplies.
3. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
Quality Control:
1. Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency.
2. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
3. Report any quality issues or concerns to senior chefs.
Teamwork and Training:
1. Assist in training junior kitchen staff on South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
2. Work effectively with other kitchen staff to achieve team goals.
3. Participate in kitchen meetings and contribute to menu development.
Administrative:
1. Maintain accurate records of food preparation, inventory, and waste management.
2. Adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and standards.
**Requirements**:
1. 1-2 years of experience as a Commi Chef in a South Indian restaurant or hotel.
2. Formal culinary training or apprenticeship in South Indian cuisine.
3. In-depth knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes.
4. Strong knife skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
6. Good communication and teamwork skills.
7. Food Safety and Hygiene certification (e.g., HACCP).
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
