We are seeking a skilled and experienced Continental Chef (CDP) to join our culinary team. As a Continental Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in the Continental cuisine section. Your role will involve working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure high-quality standards are maintained and that all dishes meet the expectations of our guests.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Continental dishes including pastas, risottos, pizzas, salads, and other specialties.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
- Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to proper cooking techniques and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of equipment.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and specials, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and smooth service during busy periods.
- Follow all sanitation and food safety regulations, including proper storage and handling of food products.
- Handle any special requests or dietary restrictions from guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques, continuously striving to improve culinary skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Continental Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen.
- Extensive knowledge of Continental cuisine, including various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload as needed.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality dishes that exceed guest expectations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant training program is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
