Salesperson Job Description - Retail (Artefacts Shop)
Position: Retail Salesperson
Industry: Artefacts and Handicrafts
Overview: A retail salesperson in an artefacts shop plays a key role in selling handcrafted products, artifacts, and cultural items. This role involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and offering detailed information on various artefacts to help them make informed purchases.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service: Greet and engage customers in a warm, friendly manner. Understand customer preferences and guide them in selecting suitable artefacts. Provide in-depth knowledge of products, including the history, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of artefacts.
2. Sales & Upselling: Meet sales targets by actively promoting products. Suggest complementary items and upsell where appropriate. Handle price negotiations and ensure smooth transactions.
3. Product Knowledge: Learn and share information about the materials, origins, and stories behind the artefacts. Stay updated on new arrivals, special collections, and limited-edition items.
4. Store Maintenance: Keep the display of artefacts visually appealing and organized. Ensure all items are well-stocked and properly priced. Assist in handling inventory and reordering products when necessary.
5. Checkout & Payments: Process sales transactions, including cash and card payments. Handle returns or exchanges in a professional manner, according to store policy.
6. Customer Relationship Building: Build long-term relationships with clients, especially those looking for collectible or unique pieces. Offer personalized assistance, including custom orders or arranging for item delivery.
7. Cultural Ambassador: Educate customers on the cultural importance and significance of the artefacts. Promote traditional craftsmanship and the uniqueness of handmade items.
Skills & Qualifications: Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engage customers. Sales Skills: Proven ability to meet sales targets and upsell products. Customer Service: Patience, active listening, and a customer-first attitude. Basic Math: Proficiency in handling payments and maintaining accurate records. Prior experience in retail or sales is preferred, especially in the handicraft or artefacts sector.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
