**Qualifications for Microbiologist**
- MD Microbiology with at least 3 to 5 years of experience (essential).
- Experience in Microbiology (Bacteriology, Virology and parasitology), Serology, Mycology and Immuno Fluro Assay (IFA) (essential).
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests and release the patient reports.
- Active current state licensure as a registered Microbiologist.

**Responsibilities for Microbiologist**
- To direct the concerned department of the Laboratory.
- To supervise the work of technologists in the respective department.
- To have a comprehensive knowledge in Microbiology (Bacteriology, Virology and parasitology), Serology, Mycology and Immuno Fluro Assay (IFA).
- Responsible for the preparation of assigned departmental reports with interpretative summaries.
- If any further suggestion is required after any investigation, it should be mentioned in the patient report.
- Maintain knowledge on various research methods and perform all manual operations on various supplies.
- Develop and maintain validation in all protocols for various environmental controls.
- Perform laboratory analysis on all materials after appropriate sterilization.
- Perform tests on component samples, identify any contamination, conduct an analysis and initiate corrective measures.
- Study various cultures of microorganisms in isolation according to standard inhibition and ensure control over moisture and temperature.
- Monitor all physiological and morphological characteristics and identify microorganisms.
- Perform audits on various environmental programs and perform reviews.
- Has to maintain all the records conducted in the laboratory properly for both the laboratory and the licensing authority.
- Provide advice and interpretation of test results and the appropriateness for further investigation.
- To review, interpret cases by analyzing laboratory findings and case investigation reports.
- Work alongside laboratory technologist or biomedical scientists while they complete laboratory tests.
- Provide continual training of the respective departmental staff based upon identified learning needs in an understandable manner and also continuing education regarding the use and limitations of each diagnostic investigation.
- Responsibility for evaluating, planning and implementing a goal of that department.
- Participate in the development and validation of new assays in the respective department.
- Ensure that the highest standards of quality and customer service are maintained.
- To achieve any kind of accreditation (national and international), the quality to be maintained must be reviewed periodically and all responsibilities must be taken during the assessment.
- Develop and document various microbiology laboratory processes and prepare final reports.
- Develop and prepare a proper protocol and SOP for all the work and the roster of technical staff of the department should be made every month.
- Carry out research and keep up to date with new information relevant to your field and every year at least 3 research papers should be published in a reputed international journal with the name of our organization.
- Arrange CME’s, workshop, webinar by collaborating with eminent personalities to uplift the standard of the organization.
