Instructional Designer

**Overview of the role**

The Instructional Designer role is a crucial player in our commitment to delivering powerful, effective learning products. This role involves defining and driving our content strategy, drawing on deep instructional design principles to create impactful, interactive content across various formats. As an Instructional Designer, you will bring a rich blend of creativity and analytical skills, developing dynamic learning experiences while continually refining content based on user feedback and industry trends.

In addition to this, the Instructional Designer role also acts as a Teaching Assistant, providing support and guidance to learners. This unique aspect of the role allows for a deep understanding of the user experience, driving the development of relevant and meaningful content.

**Key responsibilities**

**Lead Content Planning**:

- Collaborate with experts (internal and external) to design a logical curriculum and oversee content creation for engagement and learning.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy across platforms, aligned with objectives and user needs.
- Oversee end-to-end content creation, fostering continuous learning and innovation.
- Track post-launch product statistics on learner experience to continuously iterate the feature-set and improve user experience.
- Enhance content through instructional design, creating engaging and immersive learning experiences. Set quality standards and design user-friendly interfaces for effective learning.
- Provide enriching exercises and activities for enhanced learning. Create supporting media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.) based on learning objectives/learner performance.
- Design and build engaging storyboards and multimedia content using advanced instructional design tools.
- Visualize instructional graphics, user interface, and the final product while developing user flows.

**Stay Informed and Innovate**:

- Research competitors, stay updated with industry trends, and incorporate insights into content offerings.
- Maintain and update the product documentation and future developments.

**Collaborate with the Team**:

- Work with the tech squad to develop new product features based on user feedback.
- Provide teaching assistance, refine content strategy, and improve user experience through learner interactions

**Required qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Content strategy/Instructional Design within the ed tech industry.

- Hands-on experience with instructional design tools and interactive content creation software.
- Experience in collaborating with authors and various stakeholders in a content creation process.
- Familiarity with storyboarding, interactive content development, and content flow evaluation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the ed tech landscape, including industry trends and user needs.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with digital content platforms and content management systems.
- Experience in an ed tech startup environment.
- Sound knowledge of the tech industry and its evolution.
