**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced **Safety Officer** to oversee and implement safety protocols during crane erection and related lifting operations. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, enforcing safe work practices, and promoting a strong safety culture across the site.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Monitor all crane erection activities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and audits on-site, specifically focusing on lifting equipment, rigging gear, and elevated work.
- Ensure that crane assembly, testing, and commissioning procedures are executed safely and in line with the method statement and risk assessment.
- Identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
- Coordinate toolbox talks and safety briefings before crane erection and heavy lifts.
- Verify that all personnel involved in crane erection are trained and competent.
- Ensure all lifting plans and permits are reviewed and approved before execution.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, or unsafe acts/conditions and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain updated safety records, inspection reports, and incident logs.
- Liaise with crane manufacturers, erection teams, and project managers to align safety expectations.
- Promote the use of proper PPE and enforce its use throughout the site.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification (mandatory).
- Minimum **3-5 years** of experience as a Safety Officer on construction or heavy lifting projects.
- Specific experience with **tower crane, mobile crane, or crawler crane erection** is highly preferred.
- Familiar with local and international safety standards and crane operation regulations.
- Strong knowledge of lifting plans, rigging practices, and fall protection systems.

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in risk assessment and incident reporting.
- Ability to enforce compliance while maintaining teamwork.
- Attention to detail and proactive safety mindset.

**Work Conditions**:

- Field-based role on active construction and crane erection sites.
- May require working at height and in variable weather conditions.
- Use of PPE is mandatory at all times.
