Logistics Executive

This position will have responsibilities related to procurement, supply chain and logistics to serving **Aimler Solutions** and **its affiliates** as Aimler Solutions clients.

**Job Duties/ Responsibilities**:
The primary duty of the Logistic Executive is to review and process import transactions, including all related activities, for one or more major accounts, and to provide excellent, proactive and timely
- The Import Logistics Executive will be responsible for various aspects of International Transportation from origin booking through final delivery
- Duties will include preparation of freight quotes, tracking of freight and invoice processing
- Coordinate logistics needs with external customs broker, freight forwarder and drayage carrier
- Track and trace containers from origin to destination and communicate any delays to all parties involved
- Approve production bookings from origin forwarder/agents with direction from the production team
- Ensure production orders and documentation are in compliance with customs requirements for import to the United States
- Review import broker/custom documentation (knowledge of HTS codes is helpful but not required) on a regular basis
- Coordinate schedules and approve delivery appointments with drayage carriers and receiving warehouse from port to company for inbound receiving
- Communicate with affiliated departments and teams regarding timelines for incoming production shipments and container loads
- Review and approve freight invoices, input cost into system, research discrepancies and identify resolution plans
- Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Import Logistics Executive is a key role in our Logistics team handling the tactical execution of daily import operations to ensure on time, quality, and cost-efficient delivery to all US and Canadian trade partners
- Facilitates and actively manages procurement processes for goods including purchase order planning, shipment, and import/export operations in an overseas environment
- Responsible for order-to-cash cycle process execution, customs operations, warehouse import scheduling and invoicing processes
- Orchestrates all the partners related with import process such as international shipping lines, ports, local transportation companies, and 3PL’s
- Responsible for inbound freight/deliveries ensuring safety and security measures and established best practices and company standards are being met
- Continuously reviews transportation rates to our warehouses and makes sure necessary actions are taken to reach optimum costs with best in quality service
- Manages invoicing process for distributor and OEM customers, and ensures correct pricing is reflected
- Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
- Manages return logistics and damage/claim process of imported goods and ensures claims are being resolved in a month
- Continuously measures and reviews delivery performance of both 3PL’s and carriers, ensures the targeted service levels and customer’s expectations are met according to our company business objectives
- This includes but is not limited to assisting any coordination requests from our foreign Operations Team, obtaining freight quotes to assist our pricing team, order tracking, and maintaining updated branch routing information and requirements
- Issue resolution with customers, including tracking containers, working with our customs broker to assure containers are being dispatched to truckers and that delivery appointments are being met in a timely fashion
- Issue resolution with truckers in obtaining chassis to pull containers and working with ocean carrier for credit if/when applicable for “non” chassis usage or private chassis usage
- Assist in capturing actual transit times by origin by final location to provide updated transportation lead-times to our customers
- Work with our current line up of dray carriers and assist to find alternate carriers to take the load when the load is rejected
- Work with our teams and warehouses for routing requirements or issues, create and maintain branch specific routing guides
- Assist in auditing and preapprovals for all freight invoices. work on bill of lading, packing slips, invoices and all other documents required
- Assist with Freight Claim process
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline
- 5+ years of supply chain experience, including working on logistics activities and commodity items
- Prior experience working in logistics/ supply chain role in domestics shipment is required
- Prior experience working with foreign companies is preferred.
