The Signalman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of signaling equipment to direct the movement of trains, rail cars, and other rail traffic. This role involves monitoring and controlling the signals, switches, and track circuits to ensure the safe passage of trains and to prevent collisions or derailments. The Signalman works closely with train conductors, engineers, and other rail personnel to coordinate rail traffic and maintain safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Control Movements:

- Operate signals and track switches to control movements within a designated area.

2. Ensure Safety:

- Implement safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure the protection of passengers, crew etc.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly, taking necessary actions to mitigate risks.
- Responsible for safety during crane operations.

3. Assist with Crane Operations:

- Assist tower crane operators in loading and unloading materials.

4. Maintain Equipment:

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of signaling equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Report any faults or malfunctions in the signaling system and coordinate repairs.

5. Record Keeping:

- Maintain accurate records of movements, signal changes, and any incidents or delays.
- Prepare reports on operational activities and safety incidents as required.

6. Communication:

- Provide clear and concise instructions to staff.
- Use radios, telephones, and other communication devices to relay information and instructions.

7. Compliance:

- Adhere to regulations, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and best practices in signaling.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid certification or license to operate tower cranes, as required by local regulations.
- Physical fitness to perform the duties required, including the ability to climb to the crane cabin and work at heights.
- Training and certification in signaling (varies by region and employer).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor multiple signals and train movements simultaneously.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of signaling systems and equipment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to respond to unexpected situations and emergencies effectively.
- Stress Management: Capacity to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Physical Fitness: Good vision and hearing, along with the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Basic Numerical Skills: Proficiency in basic math for calculating and verifying information.
- Mental Alertness: Required to be mentally alert at all times.
- Physical Agility and Strength: Should be physically agile and strong for various physical tasks.

Working Conditions:
Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.

**Experience**:

- Proven experience as a tower crane operator and/or signalman on construction sites. Strong understanding of crane operation, load dynamics, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to interpret lift plans and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Rotational shift

Work Location: In person
