Join us as a Front End Dev - REACT/Backbone JS at Barclays, where you'll take part in the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. As a part of the team, you will deliver technology stack, using strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand the business requirements and deliver quality solutions. You'll be working on complex technical problems that will involve detailed analytical skills and analysis. This will be done in conjunction with fellow engineers, business analysts and business stakeholders.
To be successful as a Front End Dev - REACT/Backbone JS you should have experience with:
In depth knowledge of user interface development tech stack and frameworks such as, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, BackboneJS
A level of design and business understanding so as to not compromise on business goals and design intent
Fluent in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and associated libraries (e.g., Backbone, Angular, React.) and cross-platform browser issues
Work with Quality Assurance (QA) team to get the product tested, address any issues
Familiarity with source code version control, preferably Git repos
**Some other highly valued skills include**:
Familiarity with responsive design strategy and implementation (Hands-on experience a plus)
Hands-on experience working within a scrum team
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
Ability to present designs and sell solutions to various stakeholders

Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
