**About the role**:
The Dean of Computer Science (CS) is a key leadership position and is responsible for overseeing the computer science department's operations, student affairs, and academic programs. Duties include the management of the department, administration of student services, and coordination of educational activities. The department's efficient operation, the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and the resolution of student-related issues are overseen by the Dean of Computer Science. Annual statistical reports are prepared and presented.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Provide visionary leadership to the Computer Science Dept, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.

2. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the school's academic programs, research endeavours, and industry partnerships.

3. Lead and manage a diverse team of faculty and staff, promoting professional development and a high standard of teaching, research, and service.

4. Collaborate with faculty to design and deliver innovative and industry-relevant curriculum, ensuring high-quality learning experience for students.

5. Foster research activities within the school, encouraging faculty and students to engage in impactful research projects and publications.

6. Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, research organizations, and professional bodies to enhance the school's reputation and relevance.

7. Provide mentorship and guidance to faculty and students in their academic and research pursuits.

8. Oversee the school's budget and resources allocation, ensuring effective utilization of resources to achieve strategic goals.

9. Represent the school at relevant academic and industry events, conferences, and seminars.

10. Drive the pursuit of sponsored research projects, consultancy services, and collaborative initiatives with industry and government agencies.

11. Engage in community outreach, promoting the school's contributions to society and addressing engineering-related challenges.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:
1. A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from a reputable institution.

2. A minimum of 15 years of cumulative experience in teaching, industry, research organizations, or a professional managerial role within the engineering domain, excluding the period spent on obtaining the research degree.

3. Post-Ph.D. experience of at least 10 years, demonstrating a strong track record of academic and/or industry accomplishments.

4. At least 5 years of experience as a professor, with evidence of effective teaching, research, and mentorship.

5. Academic expertise in one or more of the streams offered by the school.

6. A substantial portfolio of research papers published in refereed indexed journals with a high impact factor.

7. Desirable experience in authoring books, monographs, or reports with reputed publishers.

8. Proven experience in guiding project works, dissertations, or supervising research students, and involvement in R&D projects in the industry.

9. Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, and industry-related activities.

10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

11. Ability to lead sponsored R&D projects, consultancy assignments, and related activities.
