Following recipes and adjusting portions as required. Preparing a variety of dishes including main courses, sides, desserts, and snacks. Ingredient management: Grocery shopping based on meal plans Properly storing food to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage Rotating stock and checking expiration dates Kitchen upkeep: Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace Washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces Properly disposing of food waste Dietary considerations: Accommodating special dietary needs like allergies, vegan/vegetarian diets, or low-sodium meals Adapting recipes to suit individual preferences Communication: Discussing meal plans with the family to ensure everyone's needs are met Communicating any potential food shortages or dietary concerns Skills and qualifications for a house cook: Strong culinary skills with experience in preparing diverse cuisines Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt them to different situations Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices Excellent time management skills to ensure meals are prepared on schedule Attention to detail and presentation of food Flexibility to accommodate changing dietary needs and preferences Ability to work independently and take initiative
