As a Finance Assistant, you will be an integral part of the Le Boat finance team, which is spread across the UK, Germany, France, and Ireland. You will be involved in all aspects of accounting for our operations in Germany, Holland, and Belgium, including management reporting and analysis, Bank reconciliations, and VAT accounting. You will work with both the Le Boat finance team and the wider Travelopia finance function, the operating bases and managers, and local accountants.

**What you will be doing**:

- Monthly reporting and analysis, to include but not limited to:

- Helping Prepare and post accruals and prepayments,
- Bank reconciliations, Cash Billing and other journals as vital and reconciliation of monies received on account
- Ensure transactional data is provided to the Management Accountant for accurate and timely VAT and other statutory returns prepared and submitted.
- Assist with the completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Providing data for Audit liaison and provision of vital information.
- Ensuring compliance controls are in place and adhered to
- Providing forecast input to the Management Accountant for your entities;
- Working with base managers to understand the cost base and to control costs and Other projects and ad hoc work as required.

**What we are looking for**:

- Finance Assistant with prior experience in preparing and analyzing monthly results
- Experience in Bank and Balance sheet reconciliations
- Good knowledge of financial control and ability to ensure processes are in line with a good control environment;
- Knowledge of VAT
- Happy to be hands-on but with the ability to look at the bigger picture and sophisticated complex group structures
- Proactive in finding solutions and happy to take ownership;
- A desire to continuously improve processes and knowledge;
- Intermediate experience in Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a desire to get it the right first time
- Ability to work on your own or with a team and with excellent communications skills
