Drama Teacher

**Key Responsibilities:1. Curriculum & Instruction**
- Develop and implement engaging drama lessons that align with state or national standards in performing arts education.
- Teach students various aspects of drama, including acting techniques, stage presence, improvisation, vocal projection, and movement.
- Introduce students to different theatrical traditions, including classical and contemporary works.
- Foster an appreciation for drama, theater history, and storytelling through interactive and hands-on learning experiences.
- Incorporate acting methodologies such as Stanislavski, Meisner, and Method Acting into lessons.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including group discussions, script analysis, and live demonstrations, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Encourage students to think critically about performances, character development, and dramatic structure.

**2. Directing & Production Management**
- Direct and oversee school plays, musicals, and drama performances, ensuring high production quality.
- Organize auditions and casting to ensure fair and inclusive participation.
- Supervise rehearsals, stage blocking, and character development.
- Work with students on memorization techniques, stage movement, and expressive delivery.
- Collaborate with music, dance, and art teachers to create interdisciplinary performances.
- Coordinate stage management, lighting, sound, costume design, and set construction.
- Ensure that students adhere to rehearsal schedules and production deadlines.
- Plan and execute drama-related events such as talent showcases, monologue nights, and storytelling competitions.

**3. Student Engagement & Development**
- Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity.
- Mentor students in overcoming stage fright and improving self-confidence through performance-based learning.
- Support students in preparing for drama competitions, festivals, and college auditions.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performances and technical skills.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration among students through ensemble-building exercises.

**4. Extracurricular Activities & Community Engagement**
- Organize and lead drama clubs, improv groups, or speech and debate teams.
- Arrange field trips to live theater performances, workshops, and industry events.
- Invite guest speakers, such as actors, directors, and playwrights, to share insights with students.
- Encourage students to participate in local theater productions, film projects, and performing arts camps.
- Establish partnerships with local theaters, drama academies, and arts organizations for student opportunities.

**5. Classroom & Behavior Management**
- Maintain an organized, safe, and stimulating classroom and performance space.
- Set clear expectations for student behavior and participation in drama activities.
- Encourage a collaborative and respectful atmosphere where students support one another.
- Address behavioral challenges with positive reinforcement and conflict-resolution techniques.

**6. Professional Development & Administrative Duties**
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in drama education, performance techniques, and theater technology.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and educational conferences.
- Assess and grade student work, providing regular feedback and evaluations.
- Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to enhance the performing arts program.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

- Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
