Summary:
The Pharmacy Principal is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations of the pharmacy school/department. This includes overseeing academic programs, faculty, and staff, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and promoting excellence in education, research, and community service.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Provide visionary leadership to the pharmacy school/department.
Develop and implement strategic plans and policies.
Oversee daily operations and administrative functions.

Academic Oversight:
Ensure the quality and integrity of academic programs.
Monitor and evaluate curriculum, teaching methods, and student performance.

Faculty and Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, and retain qualified faculty and staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Promote faculty and staff development through training and mentoring.
Address personnel issues and resolve conflicts.
Student Affairs:
Oversee student admissions, progression, and graduation processes.
Support student organizations and activities.
Address student concerns and provide academic advising.
Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Research and Scholarship:
Promote and support faculty and student research initiatives.
Facilitate collaboration and partnerships with other institutions and industry.
Secure funding and resources for research projects.
Ensure compliance with research ethics and standards.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with healthcare organizations and the community.
Promote public awareness of the pharmacy school's programs and achievements.
Coordinate outreach activities and service-learning opportunities.
Represent the pharmacy school at professional meetings and events.
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the department's budget.
Allocate resources effectively to support strategic priorities.
Seek external funding and grants to enhance programs and facilities.
Ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Ph.D. in a related field.
