**Regional HSE Expert (Safety & SCR)**

**Main Purpose -**

The Regional HSE Expert will Lead assigned safety program in APAC, conduct internal PPS audit, chemical production Supplier audits and provide value-added technical solutions for continuous improvement.

Support the compilation of high-quality SDS/GHS and country specific REACH in APAC five countries ( India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Srilanka) across all businesses, ensuring efficient mitigating HSE risks in manufacturing plants & transportation and eliminate the adverse impact of Bayer operations on employees and surrounding communities

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities -**
- Conduct Process and Plant Safety audits and ensure implementation of regional audit plans, follow up implementation of corrective actions as required.
- Conduct Supplier audits in India, closely engagement with India Sourcing team to support improving supplier HSE standards in India.
- Lead assigned regional safety programs to drive Top Risk reduction initiatives (e.g., Global action plan, OHSRA, etc.) in APAC region.
- Maintenance and enhancement of the SAP EHS (environment, health, and safety) database and management of structured safety data through its lifecycle, from creation to deletion. Further enhancement of Material Safety community within Bayer in APAC.
- Cooperation with Global expert on dangerous goods topics and further enhancement of Dangerous Goods community in Bayer and to Procurement-Sourcing group for sourced materials from specific countries, follow effectively Transportation and SCR (Substance, Classification & Registration) Guidelines in compliance with the applicable Country Regulations and Global Guidelines.
- Lead transport safety program in APAC as required, provide expertise advice and practical training on Transportation safety and Load Securing to business as required.
- Monitor country specific REACH regulation and development trend to ensure business prepared for changes of REACH implementation, support execution of country specific REACH for new products of Bayer and/or key suppliers as required.

- Regionally - Procurement, Site Leadership, Site HSE, Engineering, supply chain

**Qualifications & Competencies -**
- A graduate/post graduate in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/HSE with 5+ years working in Chemical AI production site.
- Process and Plant Safety knowledge preferred
- Internal Auditor for Process and Plant ISO systems auditing, knowledge on legal requirements on transport safety and good communications skills
- Able to help and grow business by innovative contributions to existing and future strategic initiatives

- Leadership in communication, motivating and innovative.
- Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
