We transport cargo every day to over >110 stations across Asia on behalf of our customers. We have one of the strongest logistics networks in Southeast Asia and beyond, flying to over 85 cities and ranking #2 in terms of Cargo Capacity in and out of Southeast Asia. We maximise the utilisation of our capacity by relying on our sales team to build strong relationships with a variety of players, forwarders, end-customers, industry trade associations, and logistics stakeholders. We don’t like intermediaries who make money at our expense, or ignorance.

We are looking for persistent, “go-getter” and entrepreneurial Executive of Sales. As an Executive of Sales you will be working with a team of 6-8 people and will be based out of our office in Kolkata. You will be expected to be performing this role on a full-time basis. The role reports to the Lead of Sales.

A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

- Seek creative ways to gather market intelligence to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
- Actively work with Lead of Sales to seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media
- Help set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
- Onboard customers that provide recurring demand at attractive rates
- Create reviews and reports with sales and financial data
- Collaborate with team members to achieve better results
- Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams

At the onset, you may be culture-shocked working in AirAsia and with the Teleport team. To help you adapt better, we would like to share our beliefs on leadership. Put simply, you are a leader, we all are leaders and good leaders:

- Roll up their sleeves as needed, and never delegate work that one would not be willing to do themselves
- Do what is needed to get things done, as they believe speed is more important than anything else to effect change
- Over communicate, particularly as they are all quite autonomous
- Take care of our staff, and treat them as they would want to be treated
- Are rigid on goals, but flexible on the details

SKILLS

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:

- Proven experience as a Sales Executive or relevant role
- Can read and write english to an intermediate degree
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
- Fast learner and passion for sales
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong numerical skills
