Job description The IT Support Specialist will provide technical assistance to users, manage IT systems, and ensure the smooth operation of hardware and software within the organization. The role requires troubleshooting, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and systems.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install and configure new systems, hardware, and software for employees.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computers, software, printers, and network connections.
- Monitor and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform regular backups of data and systems to ensure business continuity.
- Document and update IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and common issues.
- Train staff on the use of new technologies and software.
- Assist with system upgrades, patching, and updates.
- Provide support for security protocols and enforce company cybersecurity measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in IT support, system administration, or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Familiarity with networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
- Experience with office productivity software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Knowledge of security protocols and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar credentials are a plus.
