Buyer for Indirect Procurement

Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers, and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use. Conducts full development life cycle including interviews of users, development of requirements documents, creating design specifications and implementation of requirements. Drive ongoing supplier optimization and continuous improvement. Includes Buyers.

Position Objective
- Processing of Purchase Requisitions, all aspects of placing Purchase Orders, from RFQ through to control of archived records.
- Control and ensure that Quality Approved Purchasing Procedures are being adhered to always as per Indirect Procurement Policy & demonstrate the same during Internal or External Audits.
- Monitor & report contract performance against agreed service levels & targeted cost savings
- Assist Strategic Sourcing Managers in their contract negotiation
- Liaise with internal customers & external suppliers to support timely processing of Purchase Orders and payments while developing & maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders.
- Manage the Responsible for P2P purchasing systems/ Procedures and to ensure they are followed
- Train staff on these Process and Procedures especially in SAP.
- Responsible for invoice queries for own areas of purchasing for the region.
- Support Vendor Master set up and amendments in SAP Data and analytical reporting to support finance and procurement
- In special cases act as a gatekeeper for supplier search and finalization.
- Update Strategic Sourcing portal (NPI Project Deck) where necessary.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures

Essential Job Functions:

- Support Shared Services Strategic Sourcing Manager in the development of P2P Departmental action plans, especially payment terms improvement and Indirect sourcing savings program.
- Other special projects at request of Strategic Sourcing Management
- To perform any other duties in relation to purchasing & supply as is necessary in fulfilment of the department objectives

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Commerce or Science, B. Com / BSc or any Graduate program
- Certification Courses in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain would be an added advantage.
- 3-7 years’ experience as Buyers or indirect procurement roles under Admin Services

Position Competencies
- Fluent English speaking and writing communication skills
- Mathematical competency.
- Experience as a Buyer of goods and services
- Negotiation Skills
- Experience of modern Purchasing techniques and processes
- Commercial experience, including contractual documentation, within a dynamic environment
- Experienced / Advanced level experience of Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on data manipulation and analysis within Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables) would also be advantageous.
- Experience of SAP MM preferred
