Introduction:
The role will require performing Coverage reporting and month-end activities within the Corporate Banking team in Chennai. This will comprise of a number of key financial performance reporting and analysis deliverables to Corporate Bank Finance leadership. These are likely to include, but will not necessarily be limited to, all aspects of preparation for the following:
- Oversee Month End Reporting
- Individual contribution - Support Coverage Finance Business Partners on Standard BAU/Ad-hoc
- Projects and Initiatives
- Management of on-going business management tasks
- Working and taking ownership of a number of key business management duties, ad hoc initiatives and projects
- Ownership of business areas and driving performance, including both UK & International ICB Origination
- Developing and monitoring business Key Performance indicators, ensuring all governance and control standards are adhered to
- Reviewing & interrogating financial performance and working to resolve income issues across both management accounts and coverage reporting (GCA)
- Ownership & delivery of business strategy and helping drive business performance
What will you be doing?
- It includes managing the existing reporting deliveries and new migration which needs to stabilized over a short period of time.
- Support Coverage Business Partners in the resolution of critical/complex queries from business especially around monthly movement in financials. Given the legacy nature of the systems there will be many challenging tasks to handle and resolve them efficiently which also requires close interactions with other functional teams.
- To manage new requests from business, formulate structured plan and agree on clear agreement of ownership.
- Identify non-value add tasks; collaborate with wider team to discuss possible solutions for efficient way of doing things. It also requires collaboration with other functional teams such as Corporate Banking Finance Business Partners, Central Reporting, MI, Finance Control and RDs.
- Secretarial duties for governance and management meetings, including coordinating the papers, minutes and tracking actions.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders in order to track and close actions effectively.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience of operating within a business or change management function of a large or global bank
- Ability to understand financial reporting ideally with experience of the asset side of the balance sheet.
- Demonstrable project management experience
- Strong ability to adopt a flexible approach to work and coping with high variability of work
- Proven ability to build, manage and sustain strong professional relationships with senior stakeholder
- Excellent Power-point skills, with the ability to storyboard and produce best in class presentation
- Strong data manipulation skills including Excel
- Working knowledge of Corporate products preferred
- Relevant professional qualifications, E.g. Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA), Post grad qualifications with relevant experience
- Proven track record of high performance in previous role(s)
