**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Preparation of Ingredients**:
- Prepare marinations, spices, and ingredients for tandoor dishes like kebabs, naan, roti, and other Indian bread.
- Maintain proper mise en place for the tandoor station.
- **Cooking**:
- Operate and manage the tandoor oven, ensuring it is maintained at the correct temperature.
- Cook a variety of tandoor dishes, including meats, bread, and vegetables, to perfection.
- **Quality Control**:
- Ensure dishes are prepared according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- **Hygiene and Safety**:
- Adhere to kitchen hygiene standards, including regular cleaning of the tandoor equipment.
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination.
- **Inventory Management**:
- Monitor stock levels of tandoor ingredients and report shortages to the chef or supervisor.
- Ensure proper storage of all perishables and dry goods used in the tandoor section.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist other sections as needed during busy periods.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:
- Handle tandoor equipment with care and report any maintenance or repair requirements.
- Ensure the tandoor oven is preheated and cleaned after use.
- **Learning and Development**:
- Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of tandoor cooking techniques.
- Take guidance from senior chefs to learn new recipes and techniques.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of traditional tandoor cooking techniques and recipes.
- Ability to handle high heat and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for cooking.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods.
