- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily activities such as feeding, hygiene, and mobility.
- Medical Procedures: Perform basic medical procedures like wound care, injections, intravenous (IV) therapy, catheterization, and dressing changes, ensuring proper treatment as per the care plan.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, documenting symptoms, medical history, and overall health status. Communicate findings to doctors and other healthcare professionals to guide treatment decisions.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with doctors, specialists, and allied health staff to implement and monitor patient treatment plans. Ensure clear communication regarding patient progress and any concerns.
- Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge care. Ensure they understand how to manage their health and follow-up care.
- Infection Control and Safety: Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a sterile and safe environment. Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical equipment and hazardous materials.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including care plans, progress notes, and reports on patient conditions and treatments. Ensure clear and complete documentation for continuity of care.
- Emotional Support and Communication: Provide emotional support to patients and families, offering compassion, reassurance, and assistance in coping with illness or injury. Communicate effectively to address concerns and promote well-being.
