Admit the patient, receive reports, documents, valuable etc. and enter into registers/forms etc. Prepare a file and inform doctors.

2. Indent required medicines/drugs/investigations thru computer.

3. Plan and perform Nursing Care by using the Nursing process.

i. Observe patient’s condition and take suitable action accordingly and/or report changes to the Head Nurse and /or to the physician.

ii. Should have adequate knowledge about the medical surgical disease condition and provides comprehensive Nursing care as per Doctor’s advice and as per the disease condition.

iii. Demonstrate adequate knowledge of pharmacology and administer medications (Oral, IV, IM, SC) safely on prescriptions or according to the standing instructions.

iv. Assisting Doctor for various surgical and medical diagnostic procedures by using aseptic technique.

v. Collecting and sending specimens to laboratory for diagnostics tests

vi. Assisting with diagnostic tests/ Biopsies, Lumbar punctures, etc.

vii. Demonstrate correct technique of checking and recording Vital signs.

viii. Prepare patients for operations and ensures that the pre-operative protocols have been followed.

ix. Assist patients, relatives and visitors in fulfilling their request and solving their queries.

x. Assisting with therapeutic procedures - Venipunctures, I.V. Therapies, transfusion etc.

4. Carry out the procedures of Admission, Transfer, Discharge and Death of patient as per hospital policy.

5. Maintain optimal comfort and personal hygiene of the patient.

6. Attends to the nutritional needs of the patient.

7. Maintain clean and safe environment for the patient.

8. Implement and maintain ward policies and routines.

9. Coordinates on patient care with other department.

10. Attend/take rounds with the Doctors and carries the orders accordingly.

11. Can define asepsis and aseptic technique and uses sterile technique when performing such tasks as:
i. Opening sterile supplies

ii. Putting on sterile gloves

iii. Changing sterile dressing

iv. Collecting sterile specimens

v. Urethral catheterizations and bladder irrigations.

12. Convert and calculate dosages, uses and equivalence chart in computing dosages, identifies terms commonly used to describe types of medications and methods of administration, identifies common medical abbreviations.

13. Identify syringes, needles and angles used in giving various types of injections.

14. Correctly calculate the infusion rate of IV’s and demonstrates the ability to solve intravenous infusion problems. Calculating ml per hr, drops per minute and correctly uses intravenous safety devices.

15. Accurately mark I.V bottles/bags for the number of hours of infusions.

16. Observe for signs of infiltration or malfunction of the infusion, recognizes signs of infection or mechanical danger at the site of injection, intervenes appropriately.

17. Discontinuation of peripheral IV line, provides venipuncture site care according to the established policy /procedure.

18. Maintains a professional interpersonal relationship with all colleagues and other departments.

19. Taking responsibility to continuously update the knowledge and be competent with the changing trends in the profession. Attends to CMEs /Training programmes.

20. Changing central line dressing with aseptic techniques.

21. Administration of IV fluids / TPN via central line.

22. Collection of blood samples and labeling the same and send them to path lab.

23. Making billing entries of visit charges, medicines /drugs used, procedures, tests done in the ward/ unit.

24. Tracheotomy suctioning and dressing using aspetic techniques.

25. Administrating blood and blood products via peripheral line and central line.

26. Administration of chemotherapy agents via peripheral line / central line and chemo-port using aspetic techniques and personal protection gear.

27. Keep the crash cart ready and prepares emergency injections like Atropine, Avil, Effcorline, Xylocard, Adrenaline Etc.

28. Check all the electrical equipments such as syringe pump, suction apparatus, pulse oximeter, defibrillator, oxygen, anesthesia, machine etc. and keep them in ready -to -use position.

29. Maintain inventory of instruments, medicines and linen.

30. Check and stores CSSD material at appropriate places.

31. Check the expiry date of all materials /drug / injections.

32. Monitoring of all patients pre & post procedures.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,273.16 per month
