- **Read blueprints**Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand the product's design and specifications
- **Write code**Use computer software to create code that instructs the machine to create the product
- **Set up the machine**Choose workholding devices, calibrate machine parameters, and configure the machine to produce the part
- **Run tests**Conduct test runs and inspections to verify the quality and accuracy of the machining programs
- **Troubleshoot**Troubleshoot issues with the machine during the instructional design process
- **Train staff**Train new staff members on how to operate the machine
- **Maintain equipment**Perform routine machine maintenance and preventive maintenance
- **Communicate**Communicate with the production team and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow
- **Collaborate**Collaborate with design and production staff to solve machining or assembly issues
