**Job Description**:
This position requires partnering with WDC engineering teams, IT teams and others to deliver the right scalable tools and infrastructure that help engineers develop, test, debug and release software and products quickly. We impact thousands of Western Digital developers worldwide and millions of customers by increasing the pace of product development, improving product quality and directly impacting WDC’s bottom line.

**What you will be doing**:

- Experience in deploying, maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting Linux based infrastructure both on bare metal and on vSphere platforms.
- Strong experience in Linux system administration, Networking, RedHat Satellite, Database
- Healthy interest in infrastructure, shell scripting/programming, systems automation tools (Ansible) and source control (Git, Subversion).
- Must possess documentation skills and can work with rapid change and at a fast pace.
- Provide support and maintain the Secure Development Factory infrastructure
- Linux System engineering and leadership including (but not limited to):

- Deployment Automation
- Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills
- Expertise in system resource monitoring
- Operating System architecture level Knowledge
- Maintenance and optimization
- Development roles/playbooks/modules
- Be a technical leader for use of Infrastructure as Code across the IT data center and enterprise environments
- Extensive experience in shell scripting/programming, systems automation tools (Ansible)
- Good networking knowledge (VLAN, Firewall, Routing, DNS, Infoblox)
- Experience managing vSphere clusters and hands-on experience maintaining ESXi, VCenter servers.
- Strong understanding of system monitoring solutions like Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty
- Experience supporting global teams and resolving production issues minimizing the impact and downtime.

**Qualifications**:
**What we need to see**:

- 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership experience in IT and software development teams.
- Extensive experience in design, implementation, delivery and support of sophisticated software build/test/continuous release and deployment infrastructure.
- Must possess strong documentation skills and can work with rapid change and at a fast pace.
- Experience building highly available, stable, secured and scalable solutions and services as part of a DevSecOps team
- Hands-on experience in designing and building global distributed systems with local mirrors and replication (DR) across site.
- Strong knowledge on monitoring tools like Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty and reporting tools like Splunk
- Working experience in haproxy, load balancers, ldap/sso integration, security endpoint configurations
- Good experience in supporting large number of users and developers providing platform as a service.
- Proven ability to influence and/or lead high performing/ geographically dispersed teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues.
- Excellent troubleshooting & debugging skills
- Very good understanding of Infrastructure at Server, Storage, Networking, Database and OS layer.
