**Job Description**:
This position requires partnering with WDC engineering teams, IT teams and others to deliver the right scalable tools and infrastructure that help engineers develop, test, debug and release software and products quickly. We impact thousands of Western Digital developers worldwide and millions of customers by increasing the pace of product development, improving product quality and directly impacting WDC’s bottom line.

**What you will be doing**:

- Deploy, maintain, support and troubleshoot Devops tools on virtualised platforms with Automation Fist mindset
- Exploit automation technologies and bring-in continuous improvements to enhance the platform robustness and agility
- Provide guidance and coaching to the junior team members and perform peer reviews
- Design and maintain Observability/Monitoring solutions to achieve deeper insights on our systems
- Ansible Automations everywhere on the platform
- Automate CICD pipelines integrating the tools available on the platform
- Develop metrics Dashboard on monitoring tools like Icinga, Grafana and reports on Splunk and help diagnose live issues
- Follow SRE practices to make the platform more stable, automate time consuming and repetitive processes reducing toil
- Investigate and recommend new CICD tools based on requirements from Engineering teams
- Work on various projects to configure new tools/instances on the platform on the grounds of BU requests
- Efficient troubleshooting on various live issues that arise on the platform
- Collaborate with stake holders to understand and implement needed solutions

**Qualifications**:
**What we need to see**:

- 7-9 years of hands-on technical leadership experience in IT and software development teams.
- Extensive experience in design, implementation, delivery and support of sophisticated software build/test/continuous release and deployment tools and Infrastructure
- Experience with backup/restore and redundancy strategies and implementation
- Experience building highly available, stable, secured and scalable solutions and services as part of a DevSecOps team
- Hands-on experience in designing and building global distributed systems with local mirrors and replication (DR) across site
- Proficiency in CICD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, CodeScene, Black duck. SonarQube, X-Ray, Ansible, and more
- Strong knowledge on monitoring tools like Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty and reporting tools like Splunk
- Working experience in ha-proxy/load balancers, ldap/sso integration, security endpoint configurations
- Good experience in supporting large number of users and developers providing platform as a service.
- Proven ability to influence and/or lead high performing/ geographically dispersed teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues.
- Excellent troubleshooting & debugging skills
- Healthy interest in infrastructure, shell scripting/programming, systems automation tools (Ansible) and source control (Git, Subversion).
- Must possess documentation skills and can work with rapid change and at a fast pace
- Provide support and maintain the CICD tools and Infrastructure of our Secure Development Factory
- DevOps engineering, System monitoring and leadership including (but not limited to):

- Deployment Automation
- Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills
- Expertise in system resource monitoring
- Operating System architecture level Knowledge
- Maintenance and optimization
- Development roles/playbooks/modules
- Extensive experience in shell scripting/programming, systems automation tools (Ansible)
- Strong understanding of system monitoring solutions like Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty
- Experience supporting global teams and resolving production issues minimizing the impact and downtime.

**Good to have**:

- Very good understanding of Infrastructure at Server, Storage, Networking, Database and OS layer
- Experience on containerisation
- Bash and Python scripting is an added advantage
- Strong experience in Linux system administration, Networking, RedHat Satellite, Database is a value-add
- Good networking knowledge (VLAN, Firewall, Routing, DNS, Infoblox)
