Job Title - Payroll Associate

Role Overview

As Payroll Associate you will assist the Head of Payroll with all aspects of payroll provision across SHL’s 20+ global payrolls. This role will work with HR and Finance staff to ensure monthly payrolls are processed accurately, on time and in line with local laws and internal policies. It will also contribute to significant ongoing process improvements, including changes in external payroll providers, enhancement of processing, review and payment stages, and the month end reporting process.

You will be a well organised person with well-developed payroll experience, strong attention to detail and the aptitude to meet goals, whilst being adept at handling change and improving process efficiency and effectiveness.

**Primary Accountabilities**:

- Process payroll for staff in the organisation in line with published timelines, including ensuring appropriate control is applied (e.g. exception reporting), and approval is obtained and documented
- Help compliance with relevant local labour and tax laws and internal policies
- Collate information from the SHL HRIS and other sources as required to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls
- Work with outsourced providers in multiple geographies
- Preparation of data required for monthly payroll journals
- Answering to annual financial statement audit queries from external audit firm

**Experience**:

- Proven payroll experience
- Experience preparing payrolls from start to finish
- Experience resolving HR and employee queries
- Experience preparing payroll tax and other regulatory returns
- Experience working with the Finance team to prepare monthly payroll journals
