**Role Description**
Loans / lending commitments are often a key component of the relationships held by Deutsche Bank with its corporate and financial institutional clients. Relationship loans are typically issued to support the generation of franchise revenues booked by the product lines across the Corporate Bank and Investment Bank divisions.
Strategic Corporate Lending (“SCL”) provides governance around the investment of loan capital into these client relationships and risk manages the approved final hold positions down to pre-defined thresholds set by Credit Risk Management.
SCL owns the loan risk that it is hedging within its predominantly senior, unsecured asset class Institutional and Corporate Credit portfolio. SCL hedges the final hold positions down to the pre-defined thresholds using single name CDS and the issuance of CLOs referencing the underlying loan risk.
Portfolio Management team within SCL is primarily responsible for the risk assessment and pricing of new facilitates, monitoring the credit quality of the underlying portfolio and watch-list names and managing the workout/default cases to ensure maximum recovery for the Bank.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Monitoring of the SCL portfolio to facilitate efficient risk management which includes regular monitoring of the watch list names and rating changes of the individual exposures for early detection of credit deterioration and possible default situations
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly Risk Council report which includes reviewing and analyzing changes in risk positions and underlying drivers, sensitivities, compliance with hedging timeframes etc.
- Monitoring of financial covenants and reporting of overdue compliance certificates; working closely with SCL governance team and operations teams to ensure timely reporting of compliance certificates
- Analyzing financial covenant trends to draw meaningful observations on the credit risk of various sectors and the portfolio
- Monitoring the exposure to various industries and provide visibility on incremental lending and de-risking strategy to ERM (Enterprise Risk Management)
- Assist in the credit analysis and risk assessment of new clients and watch list names
- Prepare ad-hoc and customized reports on the portfolio for SCL and CRM senior management
- Assist in the affirmation of the S&P rating and recovery for Leverage Finance deals to decide the hedging thresholds at origination and monitoring recoveries of the booked facilities for CLO investor reports
- Working with SCL IT and operations team to ensure the data quality of the underlying exposures, utilization and thresholds and improvements in reporting systems
**Your skills and experience**
- Credit analysis/assessment skills with fundamental knowledge of financial statements and analysis
- Excellent Excel skills including extensive use of formulas - comfortable in building ad-hoc excel based tools to assist in day to day tasks
- Excellent communication skills and initiative to engage with other teams
- Significant attention to detail
- Demonstrable problem-solving ability; organized with an ability to manage multiple issues
- High degree of initiative but also the ability to raise problems immediately to the broader SCL team when necessary
- Familiarity with basic VBA or other programming skills beneficial
