**Research Fellow - 1**:Climate Change and Health _(Placed at PSPH, MAHE, Manipal)_:
Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct interdisciplinary research on the intersection of climate change and public health.
- Analyze environmental and health data, conduct meta-analysis, organize events, and

workshops
- Develop and implement research projects, including data collection, analysis, and

dissemination of findings.
- Collaboratively publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
- Collaborate with other researchers, institutions, and policymakers to contribute to climate
- resilient health strategies.
Essential Qualifications:

- A Master’s degree (minimum) or Ph.D. (preferred) in Public Health, Environmental Science,

Climate Science, Epidemiology, or related fields.
- Additional training or coursework in climate change or global health is an advantage.
- Proven experience in research related to climate change, public health, or environmental

health.
- Familiarity with epidemiological studies, model Proficiency in statistical and data analysis

tools (e.g., R, Jamovi, Python, SPSS, Stata, or SAS).
- Experience with GIS and remote sensing tools for climate-health analysis (optional but

desirable).
- Ability to handle large datasets and perform systematic reviews or meta-analyses, or

geospatial analyses.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong academic writing skills (e.g., publications, grant proposals).
- Ability to translate complex findings into policy briefs or public health recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and across sectors.
- Experience with community-based research or stakeholder engagement.
- Project Management, and collaborative work skills
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork, conferences, or collaborative projects.
- Flexibility to work on both theoretical and applied aspects of climate-health research.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct demographic research with a focus on health outcomes, population dynamics, and

their implications for public health.
- Analyze trends in population health, fertility, mortality, migration, and aging using

advanced statistical and demographic methods.
- Develop models and projections related to health demography, including burden of disease

and population aging impacts.
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and

international forums.
- Collaborate with academic, governmental, and non-governmental organizations to inform

health policies and programs.

Essential Qualifications:

- A Master’s degree (minimum) or Ph.D. (preferred) in Demography, Public Health, Statistics,

Sociology, Population Studies, or related fields.
- Training in quantitative methods, particularly related to population and health, is highly

desirable.
- Experience in analyzing population and health surveys such as Demographic and Health Surveys

(DHS), Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS), or similar datasets.
- Proficiency in demographic and statistical software (e.g., Stata, SPSS, R, or Python).
- Familiarity with demographic tools and techniques, such as life table analysis, fertility and

mortality modeling, and projections.
- Skills in geospatial analysis and mapping are an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of demographic theories, transitions, and their health implications.
- Awareness of global population health challenges and frameworks (e.g., Sustainable Development

Goals, UNFPA priorities.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong academic writing skills, with experience in grant writing and scientific publications.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights for policymakers and stakeholders.
- Expertise in handling and analyzing large population health datasets.
- Ability to integrate demographic, epidemiological, and social determinants of health

perspectives into research.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary research teams and managing collaborative projects.
- Engagement in stakeholder or community-based research is a plus
