- Assigns and sequence codes accurately based on medical record documentation.
- Follows all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) rules and regulations.
- Involves in ensuring data integrity including appropriate sequencing and dispositions, resolving all coding edits prior to finalizing the charts, compliant with United States Local and Federal Regulations.
- Continuing education for ICD10 with Elsevier modules, staying current with coding clinics, and revised codes.
- Keeps current with all coding updates/changes through Coding Clinics and literature.
- Querying physicians regarding incomplete documentation.
