Are you passionate about medical coding and skilled in guiding others to success? We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Trainer / Process Coach specializing in Evaluation & Management (Outpatient & Inpatient) and Same Day Surgery (SDS) coding. This is a fantastic opportunity to take your coding expertise to the next level while coaching, training, and driving process excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the primary coding expert for EM OP/IP and SDS cases.
  • Train and mentor coding staff, developing engaging training materials and refresher sessions.
  • Coach coders on accuracy, compliance, and best practices to drive performance.
  • Conduct quality audits, provide actionable feedback, and resolve complex coding issues.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and CMS guidelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve denials, disputes, and escalated queries.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize coding efficiency and quality.

What Were Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Health Information Management, Life Sciences, or equivalent).
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in medical coding with expertise in E/M (OP & IP) and SDS.
  • Certifications (Preferred/Required): CPC, COC, CRC, CCS, or equivalent AAPC/AHIMA certification.

  • Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and inspire coding professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR and coding software.
