**Job Summary**:
The Project Design and Estimation will play a key role in developing cost-effective and accurate quotations for solar installations. The primary responsibility is to design solar projects on relevant software, develop BOM and provide detailed project cost estimations, create quotations and ensure competitive pricing in line with market trends and company goals. This role will require collaboration with the sales, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure that all aspects of the solar solutions are accurately costed and presented.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design of solar projects**:

- Develop design proposals based on RFQ or information received from sales person with regards to proposed projects
- Generate Layouts and BOM for the designed project for estimation and costing
- **Cost Estimation**:

- Calculate costs for solar panels, inverters, batteries, wiring, and other hardware and components.
- Estimate installation, maintenance, and operational costs, factoring in labour and site conditions.
- Analyse suppliers and vendors for cost-effective sourcing of materials, keeping within the company’s pricing structure and quality standards
- **Quotation Creation**:

- Design and generate accurate and competitive quotations for solar projects based on client requirements, specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns that include material costs, labour, transportation, taxes, and other relevant charges.
- Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to understand the scope of the project and ensure that all required components are included in the quotation.
- **Pricing Strategy**:

- Develop pricing strategies based on industry benchmarks, cost structures, and competition analysis.
- Ensure quotations are competitive while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
- Adjust pricing and designs based on changing market conditions and material costs.
- **Proposal Documentation**:

- Prepare and present comprehensive proposals that include detailed cost analysis, breakdown of material and labour charges, and timelines for delivery and installation.
- Create formal quotation documents, using professional language and formatting, to be submitted to clients.
- **Cost Review and Optimization**:

- Regularly review the cost structure and recommend improvements for reducing project costs without compromising quality.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or inconsistencies in pricing or costing.
- Keep track of ongoing projects and update quotations based on any scope changes or client revisions

**Required Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Educational Qualification**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent (preferably with a specialization in renewable energy or solar systems)
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Pre-Sales + Design and Estimation role within the solar industry
- Proven experience in preparing quotations and cost estimates for commercial and industrial solar projects both kW and MW scale, Ground mounted projects of various capacities including knowledge of LT and HT evauation
- **Skills**:

- Knowledge of Solar Tools for Design such as ARKA, HELIOS, PVSyst etc.
- Strong proficiency in cost estimation and pricing software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, or other quotation generation tools)
- Analytical skills with a focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficient material sourcing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Familiarity with solar energy systems, electrical systems, and renewable energy standards.
- Understanding of solar energy regulations, including incentives, tax credits, and local guidelines
