We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator for steel take-off, who will be responsible for reviewing blueprints, analysing specifications, determining steel quantities, and calculating costs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to gain a thorough understanding of the steelwork requirements.
  • Accurately determine the quantity and type of steel required for the project, including all necessary connections and fittings.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for the steelwork, including material costs, labour costs, fabrication costs, and installation costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimates, pricing, and project-related information.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues related to steelwork cost and delivery.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of structural steel design and fabrication, including knowledge of steel codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience with steel estimating software and tools like Bluebeam, MS Excel, and Tekla Power Fab.
  • Ability to analyse project requirements and determine cost factors
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
