Grinding Machine Operator

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Set up and operate various grinding machines (surface, cylindrical, centerless, etc.) to machine metal work pieces according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.
- Measure and examine completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Monitor machine operations to detect any issues or malfunctions and make adjustments as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment and ensure machines are operating efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any issues encountered during operations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and achieve production targets.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a grinding operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of grinding wheel selection, setup, and machine operation.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and the ability to perform precise measurements.
- Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve prolonged standing and handling of heavy materials.

**Working Conditions**:
