Job Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Management:
- Oversee the preparation and processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll for [number] employees across various departments.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including salaries, wages, bonuses, deductions, and overtime.
- Monitor the payroll system for accuracy, ensuring all data is entered correctly, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
2. Compliance and Legal Knowledge:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations, requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws, tax regulations, and industry standards to ensure payroll practices remain compliant.
- Review payroll processes to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including exemptions, overtime calculations, and tax withholdings.
- Manage audits, including internal audits and external government audits related to payroll.
3. Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise the payroll team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Develop and implement payroll processes and improvements, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
4. Benefits and Deductions:
- Administer benefits-related payroll deductions (e.g., healthcare, retirement plans, garnishments, child support, etc.).
- Ensure accurate processing and documentation of benefits-related information.
5. Employee Records and Confidentiality:
- Maintain confidential employee payroll records and related documents.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and internal security protocols for handling sensitive payroll information.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and analyze various payroll reports for management, including headcount reports, payroll cost reports, and tax compliance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of employee hours, overtime, leave, and other payroll-related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Payroll certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of [2] years of experience in payroll management, with a strong understanding of payroll software and systems.
- Proven experience with payroll processing, tax filings, and payroll compliance.
- Experience leading a payroll team and managing payroll functions in a mid-to-large-sized company.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, including FLSA, tax regulations, benefits administration, and state-specific labor laws.
- Strong proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak payroll periods (e.g., year-end processing).
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
