**Introduction**:
We are looking for an** Accounts Payable Executive**. The purpose of the role is to provide an Accounts Payable service to the group globally with particular focus on suppliers to our US business. Key aspects of the role include setting up new suppliers, registering invoices from suppliers, handling queries from the business and suppliers, and preparing payment runs.

A number of functions within The Economist Group Finance team are currently being migrated to Gurugram. The position will report into the **Banking and** **Accounts Payable Manager **and sits within a global team of 5 colleagues within the Accounts Payable function. The role will work closely with the Regional Finance Operations lead in New York, USA.

The role is based on local hours (9:00-5:30pm in Gurugram) though some flexibility will be required to cover day-to-day contact with colleagues in the US and occasional meetings with other global offices.

**Accountabilities**:
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Register invoices within the Accounts Payable module of our financial system (Peoplesoft) accurately, for coding and approval by business colleagues
- Set up new vendors within the Accounts Payable module (Trade suppliers, Contributors and Employees) and ensure correct authorization is in place. Specific US requirements: W9 for US citizens and businesses, W8BEN for non-US citizens, W8BENE for non US businesses
- Verification of 3rd party bank details and changes to bank details
- Upload of digital invoices to Accounts Payable module and ensure that accompanying documents are properly authorised and uploaded to the Document Management System (DMS)
- Batch amendments to ensure accuracy before passing to the business when required
- Administer employee expenses to ensure prompt reimbursement
- Handle invoice queries from within the business and from external vendors
- Provide additional support to other members of the Accounts Payable team
- Participate on process improvement initiatives and projects to increase team efficiency
- Process refunds to subscribers of The Economist Newspaper
- Process weekly pay‐cycles and manual payments when required
- Liaise with colleagues and suppliers in US as necessary
