Job Title: Placement Officer

Job Summary:
The Placement Officer is responsible for managing the placement process of students at the engineering college. This includes liaising with companies, organizing placement drives, preparing students for interviews, maintaining relationships with alumni, and enhancing the overall employability of graduates.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Career Guidance and Counselling**:

- Provide career counselling and guidance to students on job opportunities, industry trends, and career paths.
- Conduct workshops and seminars to prepare students for the job search process.
- **Industry Liaison**:

- Establish and maintain relationships with companies and organizations to secure job placements for students.
- Understand the recruitment needs of companies and communicate these to students.
- **Placement Drives**:

- Organize campus recruitment drives, job fairs, and placement events.
- Coordinate logistics for placement interviews and assessment sessions.
- **Student Preparation**:

- Organize training sessions on resume writing, interview techniques, and group discussions.
- Assist students in creating effective resumes and cover letters.
- **Monitoring Employment Trends**:

- Stay updated on industry trends, employer expectations, and job market conditions.
- Analyze placement statistics and prepare reports on student placements.
- **Collaboration with Faculty**:

- Work closely with faculty members to align curriculum with industry requirements.
- Encourage faculty to involve industry professionals in guest lectures and workshops.
- **Alumni Relations**:

- Build and maintain a network of alumni for mentoring and placement opportunities.
- Organize alumni meet-ups to foster relationships and gather insights on industry demands.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain records of student placements and employer feedback.
- Prepare reports on placement statistics for the management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- **Educational Background**:

- A bachelors / Masters in Engineering,, or a related field is typically preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience in placement services, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in the education sector or engineering environment can be beneficial.
- **Skills**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to network and engage with industry professionals.
- Proficiency in using data management tools and software for tracking placements.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

**Working Conditions**:

- The role may require working during evenings or weekends, especially during placement seasons and events.
