**Network Architecting**

**Real Estate MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame)**

**Location

**Real Estate MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) Room IT Architect**

**Role Overview**:
As a Real Estate MDF and IDF Room IT Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the information technology infrastructure within real estate properties. This role requires a deep understanding of networking principles, data center architecture, and IT best practices to ensure reliable connectivity and performance across distributed locations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Design and Planning**:

- Collaborate with real estate development teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Collaborate with real estate development teams to integrate IT requirements seamlessly into building plans.
- Coordinate site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and determine optimal locations for MDF and IDF rooms.
- Develop architectural designs for MDF and IDF rooms within real estate properties to accommodate networking and IT infrastructure i.e., network equipment placement, cable routing, power distribution, and cooling systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry and S&P Global standards, safety regulations, data centre governance, and best practices.
- ** Network Infrastructure**:

- Develop robust network architecture for MDF rooms, including switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and servers for MDF and IDF rooms.
- Design and implement structured cabling systems to support data, voice, and video communications within buildings.
- Optimize network performance, scalability, and redundancy.
- Implement high-speed data connectivity, voice communication, and video conferencing solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry and S&P Global standards and best practices for network design and security.
- WiFi analysis, design, and documentation
- ** Data Center Management**:

- Plan and deploy server racks, power distribution units (PDUs), and cooling systems within MDF rooms to support data center operations.
- Implement redundancy and failover mechanisms to maximize uptime and reliability of critical IT services.
- Monitor environmental conditions and implement measures to maintain optimal operating conditions within MDF rooms.
- ** Security and Compliance**:

- Design security protocols for MDF rooms, safeguarding against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches.
- Implement security controls and access restrictions to protect IT infrastructure and sensitive data.
- Implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- ** Integration and Compatibility**:

- Coordinate with other IT professionals (network engineers, system administrators, etc.) to integrate MDF room infrastructure with overall building systems.
- Ensure compatibility with smart building technologies, IoT devices, and automation systems.
- ** Vendor Management**:

- Evaluate and select vendors for networking equipment, cabling, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure.
- ** Documentation and Maintenance**:

- Create and maintain accurate documentation of MDF room layouts, equipment specifications, and connectivity diagrams. Designer and Custodian of major documents i.e., Business Requirement Document, High-Level Design (HLD), Statement of Work (SOW) and Low-Level Design (LLD) Documents.
- Conduct regular audits to assess performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose enhancements.
- Oversee maintenance and upgrades as needed.
- Deliver CAD quality documentation of MDF/IDF room layouts

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a network architect, IT infrastructure architect, or similar role.
- Proven experience in designing IT infrastructure for real estate projects.
- Familiarity with MDF room standards, cabling practices, and industry trends.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with data center technologies such as virtualization, storage area networks (SANs), and cloud computing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
