The Release Manager is the Primary interface with the Client for all requests involving changes to the agreed SOE Image or applications portfolio ? He/she should be responsible for all changes to the live PC desktop/laptop/Mobile Device environment ? Manage the Clients Application Portfolio and any changes requested to it ? Keep the application dependency list up to date. ? Assess requests and assist with solution crafting coordinate release activities of delivery teams with the Client ? Lead the on-site discovery and work with the Client resources ? Close liaison with the Client?s representatives to prioritize deliverables and resolve issues ? Ensure equipment is made available to the SOE and Packaging teams as required for build/testing purposes (various models of PCs but also peripherals) ? Identify releases to be handled as projects and escalate to the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) for resourcing. ? Project responsibilities (where these impact the desktop) ? Attend regular project meetings ? Advise of impacts caused by BAU (and other release related projects) ? Ensure BAU activities take account of project impacts ? Co-ordinate BAU and project activities as appropriate Business As Usual specific responsibilities ? Ensure SOE image released on agreed schedule ? Liaise with SOE & Packaging team leaders ? Ensure OS patches are reviewed and rolled out regularly ? Report progress to SDM on monthly basis ? Manage discovery process (requires FORMAL agreement with the client) ? Document and review BAU processes and procedures ? Identify all SOE image release components for SOE image releases ? Validate UAT testing and deployment ? Ensure documentation is provided to support teams prior to rollout ? Create (and test if possible) release back-out plans ? Ensure Know how documentation is completed for each application release (as needed) ? Liaise with Change Management and Project Management as necessary attending CAB ? Recommend detailed UAT and integration testing is completed by the client ? Ensure all applications and SOE image releases are signed off by the client prior to roll out commencing ? Execute Release Plans to roll out applications and systems KPIs and Measures of Effectiveness ? Only Applications taken from the Definitive Application Library (DAL) is installed Managed rollouts resulting in no back-out plans being executed due to implementation issues ? Support functions in possession of all required knowledge prior to implementation. Key Skills & Qualities required to be able to carry out the role ? Should join the Knowledge transfer sessions with SME ? Should arrange the training sessions for new team members
