**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The Scheduler is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the editorial, production, printing, and distribution timelines of the newspaper. The primary goal is to ensure that all departments meet their deadlines and that the newspaper is published and delivered on time without compromising quality or accuracy.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Production Scheduling**

Develop and maintain detailed schedules for daily, weekly, or special edition newspaper publications.

Coordinate with editorial, design, photography, advertising, and printing departments to align their workflows.

Monitor progress and adjust timelines as needed to accommodate delays or urgent stories.

**2. Editorial Coordination**

Ensure editors, writers, and photographers meet deadlines for content submission.

Track the status of articles, features, and ads to make sure all content is ready before print deadlines.

Collaborate with the editorial team to incorporate last-minute updates or breaking news.

**3. Advertising and Commercial Content Integration**

Schedule space for advertisements in coordination with the sales and ad booking teams.

Ensure that paid content fits into the layout without disrupting editorial flow.

**4. Print and Distribution Timing**

Work closely with printing press operators to ensure printing starts and ends on time.

Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery to vendors, subscribers, and newsstands.

**5. Workflow Optimization**

Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or delays.

Analyze production performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.

Develop contingency plans for emergencies such as technical failures or late-breaking news.

**6. Communication & Reporting**

Serve as a communication bridge between departments to ensure all teams are aligned.

Provide regular updates and reports to senior editorial and production managers regarding the status of schedules.
