**Key Responsibilities of a Staff Nurse**:
**Patient Care and Assessment**:
❖ **Direct patient care**:Providing hands-on care, such as wound care, hygiene assistance, and assisting with mobility.
❖ **Vital sign monitoring**:Measuring and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
❖ **Medication administration**: Administering prescribed medications, both orally and intravenously.
❖ **Patient assessment**:Gathering information about a patient's condition, including medical history, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
❖ **Pain management**:Assessing and managing patient pain through various methods, including medication and comfort measures.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
❖ **Collaboration with other healthcare professionals**: Working with doctors, other nurses, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement care plans.
❖ **Patient and family education**: Providing information about health conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques to patients and their families.
❖ **Documentation**: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
**Other Responsibilities**:
❖ **Equipment operation**: Assisting with the operation of medical equipment and procedures.
❖ **Supervision**: May supervise junior staff, nursing students, or other support staff.
❖ **Maintaining a clean and organized work environment**: Ensuring patient areas are clean, safe, and well-equipped
