- **Updating records**: Keeping records of receipts, withdrawals, and adjustments
- **Managing supplies**: Packing, pricing, labeling, and returning supplies
- **Managing supplier relations**: Managing supplier relations and databases
- **Creating purchase orders**: Creating purchase orders and using a purchasing card for low-value procurement activities
- **Shipping damaged items**: Shipping damaged or canceled items back to suppliers
- **Maintaining documentation**: Maintaining log books, entry and exit registers, and delivery and dispatch registers
- **Ensuring quality**: Ensuring the quality and quantity of materials

Store keepers may also be responsible for overseeing the handling of freight, the movement of equipment, and minor repairs.

Skills:

- Storekeepers typically need a 10+2 certificate or diploma, and skills in customer service, organization, and computer software.
