Responsibilities & Qualifications:
**Position Summary**

While all SQL DBAs need to be able to do both admin and coding, this role will be centered more around coding with some light admin. The SQL DBA is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the Microsoft SQL Server database systems. The SQL DBA will be mainly responsible for tuning queries and stored procedures as well as improving and writing SSIS packages and hopefully SSRS reports. The SQL DBA will work closely with the Senior Database Engineer and Infrastructure, Cloud Services, and Product Development Teams to scale, maintain and continually improve the performance and availability of OLTP databases. The DBA provides critical review of our production OLTP processes and design and provides tuning, monitoring, performance analysis, architecture scalability, query tuning, and index optimization This position will be located in our Pune Office.

**A Day in the Life**- Write stored procedures from scratch based on user requirements.- Tune existing stored procedures and bring up to modern coding practices.- Evaluate and tune table indexes.- Provide database administration support for all database environments (dev, staging, integration, production) and participate in on-call rotation as defined by management- User access management- Review daily database jobs and database alerts- Database backups and environment refreshes- Proactive database monitoring- Work with developers to optimize, improve and tune new or existing queries by rewriting queries or modifying indexes.- Participate in the planning, installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance of database instances- Troubleshoot/Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and database replication issues- Utilize the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to leverage consumption of Azure data and analytics services, including Storage Containers and Azure SQL DB and Managed SQL-
- Mentor and guide other technical resources

**We would love to chat if you have...**
- Minimum 2 years of database administration experience.
- Hands-on experience building and managing SQL Servers in AWS using Windows Failover Cluster.
- Prior experience with Availability Groups, Performance Tuning, Log shipping, Database Mirroring, Database capacity planning, and Users and Role creation and monitoring in AWS and Datacenter environment.
- Strong experience with Performance Tuning, Index Tuning, Backup and recovery methods
- Hands-on experience with SQL services such as SSRS and SSIS.
- Experience in third party database tools such as Solarwinds DPA monitoring
- Experience in SQL 2012 and higher, AWS RDS, and similar database servers.
- Exposure to toolsets such as: Source Control: Git or like Work Request Systems: TFS, Jira
- Work Request Systems: TFS, Jira, Service Now etc
- Understanding of SDLC Methodologies: Agile, SCRUM, use of architectural patterns/frameworks
- Ability to collaborate on requirements for projects and request being a great team member.
- Ability to properly assess and articulate risk.
- Willing to work in 1 PM to 10 PM shift.
