We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Manage, monitor, and optimize Sybase ASE and SQL Server databases in production and non-production banking environments.
• Automate database deployment, backup, recovery, and maintenance tasks using DevOps tools and scripting (PowerShell, Shell, Python).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database changes and releases.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and audit requirements are met as per banking standards.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, deadlocks, and replication problems.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams for seamless integration.
• Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Strong hands-on experience as MSSQL DBA providing Infrastructure support (i.e Build the instance, DB migration, DB upgrade and Patching)
• Database Administration Support on MSSQL Server 2016 & above.
• Good working knowledge of Windows platforms
• Knowledge of Clustering, Replication, Logshipping Mirroring, & AG,
• Good understanding of T-SQL Knowledge on Change management process (ITIL)
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to describe complex technical scenarios in a concise manner, both verbally and written, and articulating the content depending on the audience
• Candidate should have sense of ownership & urgency, attention to detail, flexibility, process orientation, strong analytical skills, sense of vigilance & adherence to all compliance

• Incident Management (L3)

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• 8+ years of experience as a DBA with Sybase ASE and SQL Server in a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong experience in database automation, DevOps practices, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, GCP, DevOps, etc.).
• Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Shell, Python). Demonstrable experience of scripting (shell / perl / python) with automation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and high availability.
• Experience with database monitoring tools and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, SOX, etc.) in banking.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Knowledge of storage infrastructure with experience of configuring filesystems on NAS storage and EMC SAN solutions, both standalone and clustered, including replication.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure (Cisco, TCP/UDP, LAN/WAN, GSS, F5, VIPs, Firewalls).
• Significant experience of working in a major enterprise environment and or experience operating in highly regulated industry, e.g. Financial Services.
• Experience of DevOps tools and configuration management (Ansible / Puppet).
• Operational effectiveness – experience of delivering solutions that align to approved design patterns and security standards.
• Should be well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
• Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools.
• Experience working within an agile environment.
• Highly motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
• Able to work independently to meet deadlines and under pressure.
• Passion for technology, work closely with application teams and understanding their application environments and services.
• Experience with other ITID technologies such as Middleware (WebSphere, Apache HTTP Server & Tomcat, IIS and MQ) and Databases (Oracle, Oracle RAC, MS SQL, Sybase & DB2).
• Experience of other technologies is desirable:
• Enterprise Application integration
• Programming in Java/ Java GUI, XML/ XSLT, HTML/ Java Script
• End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers
