Job Purpose:
As a Shop Assistant, your primary objective will be to provide excellent customer service and assist in the smooth operation of the shop. You will understand customer needs, help them choose the right products, complete the sales process, and contribute to keeping the shop organized and appealing.
Key Responsibilities:

- Customer Service:

- Greet customers entering the shop with a welcoming and polite manner.
- Listen attentively to their needs and inquiries and provide solutions.
- Provide detailed information about product features, benefits, and usage.
- Guide customers in selecting the right products and offer suggestions.
- Efficiently and accurately complete the sales process (e.g., creating bills, taking payments, packaging).
- Handle customer complaints effectively and inform higher authorities as needed.
- Assist customers with after-sales services (e.g., returns, exchanges).
- Sales and Targets:

- Contribute to achieving individual and team sales targets.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell related products.
- Follow sales techniques and promotions set by the company.
- Shop Maintenance:

- Maintain the shop in a clean, organized, and attractive condition.
- Display products correctly in designated areas.
- Monitor stock availability and assist in restocking as needed.
- Check expiry dates of products and remove them.
- Keep the trial rooms clean and tidy (if applicable).
- Inventory and Stock:

- Assist in stocktaking and inventory counts.
- Help in receiving and organizing new stock.
- Report any stock shortages or damages.
- Security and Regulations:

- Adhere to safety regulations within the shop.
- Be vigilant to prevent theft and loss.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Other Tasks:

- Perform other tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
- Collaborate with team members and maintain a positive work environment.
- Stay informed about new products and promotions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Minimum of 10th or 12th grade pass.
- Prior experience in customer service will be preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Polite and positive attitude.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Basic mathematical skills (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Punctuality.
- Good communication skills in the local language (Marathi).
Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of retail software or POS systems.
- Basic knowledge of English or other languages.
