Scrum Master I

Cerner is excited to hire a Scrum Master I. As a Scrum Master I, your roles and responsibilities are involved in organizing and leading a cross-functional scrum team through the Product Development Process from initiation to release. This job also requires you to plan and lead the scrum team through agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprints, and demos. Here you will act as a liaison and primary point of contact between the scrum team(s) and product management, product development and other stakeholder teams. You should manage the progress of the sprint; identify and escalate distractions and barriers that impede or slow scrum team progress. You need to facilitate collaborative cooperation and consensus within the scrum team and across other stakeholders through coordination and effective communication. You will monitor key metrics, such as quality and speed compared to scope, goals and objectives, and provide regular updates to the scrum team and key stakeholders and model agile methodologies, tools and best practices that support the Product Development Process. You should also identify process improvement opportunities at a team or department level.

Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. **Basic Qualifications**:

- At least 5 years of total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:

- At least 1 year of Project/program management work experience.
- At least 4 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent relevant work experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Familiar with a wide-range of Lean-Agile methodologies, Scaled Agile frameworks, and practices.
- Train the team on Agile methodologies as necessary.
- Facilitate Agile Ceremonies as Scrum Master (Planning, Daily Stand ups, Backlog refinement, Review and Retrospective).
- Design and configure agile project management tools (like JIRA) to support the team in better organizing and executing their work.
- Actively Support the team and PO in identification and removal of impediments.
- Discuss with leadership/management of a team define the KPI and monitor the progress made and potential impediments that is blocking or slowing down the team.
- Facilitate a collaborative workshop for a team pursuing solution to current problems or improvement opportunities.
