- Job Description *

Job Title:
Sql Database / Netezza DBA

Job Education requirement:
10 yrs. of related IT experience. Bachelor's Degree at College of Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
Strong expertise in MS SQL database administration

10 years experience on SQL Database Support, design and development.

Support and resolve all the issues related to high availability group and replication from test to production environments.

Query tuning and a sound understanding of access plans and optimization techniques

Participate in allocated DBA tasks, e.g. SQL Service pack upgrades, installations, backup and recovery, tuning, performance monitoring, day-to-day support.

Analyze the high volume tables in production and provide strategies of implementing table partitioning of these tables to production.

Possess a knowledge of security and compliance and be aware of security standards.

Perform database deployments and post deployment monitoring.

Participate in development of databases and SSIS packages to meet requirements of new initiatives. Provide advice and guidance on database technology for new business systems.

Manage ongoing initiatives, including server and system upgrades and maintain currency

Hands on exp with MS SQL 2019 on Windows
- Experienced with Replication, Performance tuning, Partitioning, High Availability, Disaster Recovery (backup/restore), Import/exports, building up DB from scratch, DB upgrades

Good communication skills both written and verbal

Job Description Netezza:
Responsible for the design, development, installation and performance of Netezza appliances.

Good understanding on Netezza appliance support, monitoring, performance, and documentation of all Netezza databases ( NPS and MAKO ).
- Able to perform day to day tasks that include : User/Group/Permissions maintenance; Work Load Management; Database/Schema/Table design and maintenance; monitoring and performance; installs and upgrades of all related appliance software; collaboration with IBM Netezza support.
- The Netezza DBA will support primarily a Netezza appliance environment that will include configuration, administration and maintenance of business-critical 24x7 non-production and production environments.
- Perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance on Netezza systems.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Experience with server virtualization including Hyper-V and VMWare. Must understand the concepts of server virtualization.
- Experience in the Banking and/or Financial Services Industry
- Excellent skills in performance monitoring, tuning, space and size management
- Experience in replication, partitioning, disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
- Experience on SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
- Experience with database migrations.
- Broad experience in clustering high availability, fault tolerant systems, SAN
- Experience in defining Database Server Security, User Creation and Right Permission
- Should be competent with Windows Clustering
- Understand the deployment process and provide recommendation on improving the process.
- Experience with Splunk
- Experience with ServiceNow
- Experience with Power shell
- Experience with Database and storage Encryption technologies (Data in motion and at rest)
