Job Summary:
The Store Executive in a piping company is responsible for managing the inventory, procurement, and storage of materials and supplies required for piping projects. This role ensures that materials such as pipes, fittings, valves, and other construction-related components are available when needed, while maintaining proper stock levels, managing inventory accuracy, and ensuring smooth store operations. The Store Executive will also coordinate with procurement teams, contractors, and project managers to fulfill material requirements for ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Inventory Management**:

- Maintain accurate records of all materials and equipment in stock, including piping materials, tools, valves, and fittings.
- Ensure that inventory is regularly updated in the system and that stock levels are monitored to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Perform periodic stock audits and physical inventory counts to ensure accurate reporting and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Monitor shelf life and conditions of materials, ensuring they are stored appropriately to avoid damage or deterioration.
- **Material Procurement and Ordering**:

- Coordinate with procurement and purchasing teams to order materials and supplies based on project requirements and stock levels.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials, and resolve any issues related to orders, including shortages or delays.
- Work with suppliers to track delivery schedules and ensure all materials meet quality and specification standards.
- Ensure that materials are properly documented with relevant purchase orders and receipts upon arrival.
- **Material Storage and Organization**:

- Supervise the proper storage of materials in the warehouse or store area, ensuring that items are organized and easily accessible.
- Implement and enforce proper handling procedures to protect materials from damage and ensure safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and manage the storage space to optimize storage capacity while maintaining safe and organized access to materials.
- **Issuing Materials**:

- Issue materials to site supervisors, engineers, or contractors according to project needs and work orders.
- Record all materials issued, ensuring accurate tracking and timely documentation.
- Verify the quantity and quality of materials issued against project requirements to prevent waste or misuse.
- Ensure the return of unused materials to inventory, if applicable, and record them appropriately.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain and update detailed records of all stock movements, material receipts, and issuance in inventory management systems.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory levels, material usage, and any discrepancies or issues that arise.
- Assist in preparing cost reports related to material usage and inventory turnover.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, and project tracking.
- **Supplier Coordination and Liaison**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely availability of materials at competitive prices.
- Track supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery time, and resolve any issues promptly.
- Ensure that all required materials meet the specifications outlined in project contracts and standards.
- **Health and Safety**:

- Ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to in the storage, handling, and transportation of materials.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure the warehouse/store environment is safe for staff and visitors.
- Participate in safety training programs to keep up to date with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- **Support to Project Teams**:

- Provide support to project teams by ensuring that they have the materials required for smooth project execution.
- Coordinate with site managers, engineers, and other project staff to meet material demands.
- Ensure timely and efficient supply of materials to avoid project delays.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in inventory management or materials handling (e.g., Lean Management, Six Sigma) are an advantage.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in material handling, inventory control, or store management, preferably in the construction, piping, or oil & gas industry.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or store management role is highly desirable.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of materials commonly used in piping systems (e.g., pipes, valves, fittings) and related components.
- Proficient in using inventory management software or systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of material handling and safety procedures.
