Mechanical Draughtsman

**Job Title**: Mechanical Draughtsman - Costing Department

**Department**: Costing / Estimation

**Reports To**: Costing Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Mechanical Draughtsman (Costing Department) will be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, BOQs, and material take-offs from design concepts to support the costing and estimation process. The role ensures all drawings are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with client specifications and company standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare detailed **mechanical and fabrication drawings** using AutoCAD or other design software.
- Work closely with the **Costing and Estimation team** to extract quantities and technical details from drawings.
- Assist in **material take-offs**, **BOQ preparation**, and **costing inputs** for tenders or client quotations.
- Modify and update existing drawings as per **client feedback or design changes**.
- Ensure all drawings meet **engineering and quality standards**.
- Coordinate with the **Design, Production, and Procurement teams** for accurate data and feasibility checks.
- Maintain proper records and drawing documentation.
- Support the costing department in identifying **cost-saving opportunities** through design optimization.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Proficient in **AutoCAD**, **SolidWorks**, or other CAD software.
- Strong understanding of **mechanical components, materials, and fabrication processes**.
- Ability to read and interpret **technical drawings and specifications**.
- Knowledge of **BOQ preparation and estimation basics**.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- **Diploma / ITI** in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- **2-5 years** of experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably in **costing or estimation** roles.
- Experience in **interior, fabrication, or manufacturing industries** will be an added advantage.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
